It’s the end of the year and the beginning of a new year and thus it’s time for my 5th Income Report. Again we see a meager increase in income over the previous month and hopes to see even more next month since I have added a new book to my Kindle library. More on that later.
Before I get too far ahead of myself, if you had read my previous article, Encouragement Through Income Reports, you will see that I have highlighted other bloggers who operate in a transparent fashion. Being open about their business and encouraging others that you can make money doing what you enjoy. In respect of that process and decision, I’ve decided to do the same. I will be writing an Income Report each month documenting the business and its growth. I just pray that it takes off and becomes something that is worth writing about.
As I mentioned in my post yesterday, Status Update, the month of December has seen very few new posts on the site due to the job search and the holidays. I can say that God did answer our prayers and brought us a job the Friday before Christmas. What a wonderful Christmas present! The company I’m working for moved to a new office over the week after Christmas, which I was able to help happen. My first true day on the job starts tomorrow.
As I mentioned last month, I’ve been focused on creating a new Kindle empire. I had already finished and posted my first true eBook, An Ingenious Guide To Twitter earlier this year. This month I was able to finish and release the companion book, An Ingenious Guide To Pinterest. It’s already selling well and I look forward to seeing where that book ends up.
The Createspace version of the book is live and actually sold a copy in the month of December. I’ll be working to get The Ingenious Guide To Pinterest formatted and added Createspace later this month.
I was also fortunate enough to participate in Spencer Haws’ launch of the new version of Long Tail Pro, in which I had the chance to give away a copy of the software to one of my readers. That went great and I love being able to give stuff away to readers. I’ll have to see what I can do in the future.
Now on to the numbers.
The Income Report – December 2012
Income From My Products:
- eBooks on site: $0
Income From Affiliate Products:
- Amazon Associates $11.32
Income from Publishing Company:
- Kindle Book Sales $76.27
- iBooks Book Sales $0
Total Income $ 87.59
I didn’t see any income through affiliate programs this month other than the Amazon Associates program. However, I did continue to see a boost in sales with my Kindle eBooks. I had hoped to see double the income through Kindle this month and I had hoped to see some Createspace sales on top of that. I didn’t double the income, however I did have 1 Createspace sale that I haven’t been paid for yet. I’ll include that in next months report once I see the payment.
Traffic Statistics
Again, compared to last month, the overall numbers have gone down. Overall I had a total of 337 visits for the month of December. The Average visit duration dropped down to 2:30 seconds. The number of pages per visit went down just a bit to 1.89. And the bounce rate rose a little more to a 64.69%. (you can click on the images below to see a larger version if you need to). A little less traffic, but still decent numbers.

Next image is the Traffic Sources. This month sees an increase in traffic coming from Niche Pursuits, mostly because of the contest last month and the giveaway this month. Twitter had more traffic and as of writing this I have 219 Twitter followers. I did upgrade to a full version of TweetAdder which has contributed to my growth in followers. And last, I have the Search Engine report.

The Future
So a lot is going to depend on how busy I become with my new job. I hope that after the first few weeks of settling into the new job that things will slow down so that I can get back to writing and the site. I’ll be doing what I can in the meantime to create new content that helps you as a reader. I will also be formatting the new eBook, The Ingenious Guide To Pinterest, to a Createspace book and getting that posted.
I actually really enjoy writing these updates each month because I can look back at what I was thinking a month ago and see how far I’ve come. A lot has happened even though at times I feel like nothing is. I’m excited to see what happens before my next update.
I think that about covers everything for this update. As always, I appreciate your time and I hope you find value here. I’d love to hear your comments or feedback below. Take Care and have a fantastic New Year!

It’s wonderful to see some income figures that aren’t off the scale! So many of the big Internet Marketing players have 5-figure monthly incomes. Yours makes it seem more realistic and achievable for people without a 4-figure email list. Thank you! Love your Pinterest book, BTW.
Great! I hope that in the near future I can post even better results. Also, if you wouldn’t mind leaving a review on Amazon about the book that would be most helpful! Thanks again!
It looks like you have some decent sales on your Kindle Books congratulations! Good luck with your new job!
Thanks! This month that trend is continuing. I’ve almost passed last month’s total only 8 days into the month. We’ll see what this month brings.
I really like the “ingenius” branding when it comes to your Kindle books. I think that definitely has ability to grow into a recognizable brand.
Good job on increasing your month over month income – hopefully you can repeat that each month of 2013!
Thanks! So does my wife and as she encourages me to finish writing book #3. She thinks that if you have enough out there people will start respecting the brand and looking to it for guidance. I hope that is the case!
