Happy New Year 2013

Status Update and the end of a year

by Steve Eason on December 31, 2012

I want to apologize for the lack of updates basically over the entire month of December.  It’s been a crazy month and there is a good reason for the slow down.  I’ve been busy all month working on different projects which required me to focus specifically on certain tasks.  I’ve got some great news about how that turned out and some updates on where I am going in the next year.

Major Changes

You might remember in some of my previous Income Reports, that I’ve been looking for full-time work to help pay the bills while I work on building my online income.  Well the great news I have to report, is that I have accepted a job the Friday before Christmas!  This is going to take a ton of pressure off myself and my family.

At the beginning of December, we found out that our unemployment benefits were ending.  This required a major change in my job seeking efforts.  I had been applying and seeking a job similar to what I had before.  Hoping to find the right job that came with the right income.  With this new change of focus, I started shooting at anything that moved.  If it met a certain base criteria, I submitted an application.  It was no longer a search for that nice job that I want.  It became the all our search for anything to put food on the table.

So with that change in focus, I shifted my time to posting for jobs.  As result I had to cut back on my Internet Marketing activities.  Thus now with the new job, my schedule is going to be limited to what time I have to post, but the best part is that I will be making concentrated efforts to post really good content that is focused.  I’m unsure of what my posting schedule will be like, but I’m sure it will start out slower at first as I learn my new job and then increasing as I settle in.

Kindle Books

Pinterest ebook render smallDuring this time period, the area I put most of my time and effort was into finishing my newest eBook, The Ingenious Guide To Pinterest. I was able to get it finished and listed on Amazon right before Christmas.  I wanted to do what I could to hit that target so that I could get downloads from those who might have gotten an eReader for the holidays.  I got it launched just in time and I ran a free promotion on both books, which ended up with over 1,000 downloads for both the books combined.

I also was able to start pulling together a new Google Community around the Kindle Publishing topic.  So far we have almost 50 members and it’s continuing to grow.  I plan on doing more to boost that community in the coming weeks.  I want it to be one of the leading communities on Google Community.  So come over and join in with our new Kindle Publishing Google Community.

The Future

I’m not sure what the future will bring but I do know that the Kindle platform is going to be my next focus for a period of time.  I’ve already started writing The Ingenious Guide to Kindle Publishing.  I’ll be sure to share what I learn along the way here as well.  I continue to keep my fingers on the pulse of Internet Marketing and I’ll continue to report on anything that I find that is interesting on that topic.

So don’t worry, I haven’t given up or turned away.  I just had a few things that had to be taken care of.  Now that the year is coming to a close and the new year is about to begin, I’ll be posting my latest income report.  So look for that, likely tomorrow.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year.  We really did and I think what we enjoyed the most was celebrating Christ’s birth together as a family in our new home.

Great news Steve, congratulations on the job! I’m in a similar position and it’s a bummer searching all the time. Happy 2013!!

Thanks for your support! Good luck with the job search. It’s not fun at all. When I accepted the job, they were concerned that I might not be willing to stay on for a long period of time. I had to tell them, you know after searching for almost 2 years for a job, I’m kinda done and ready to just get back to work.

Hopefully 2013 will be a year to remember with success and changes that last a lifetime.
